Mexico Palace Scandal: Confirmed Incident and Public Identity Hunt

Mexico has been embroiled in a public controversy over images of a woman sunbathing in a window of the National Palace in Mexico City. Initially, the official InfodemiaMx account denied the authenticity of the photos, suggesting they could be AI-generated. However, this information was later publicly retracted. President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that the incident did indeed occur: there was a person in the window, and they have already been administratively sanctioned. The head of state emphasized that while there is no specific rule prohibiting this behavior, the space holds historical and institutional value that must be respected. The controversy escalated into a more delicate phase when a user on the X platform posted a series of comparative images, suggesting the woman in the photo was Florencia Franco Fernández, a director in the team of Edgar Amador Zamora. The evidence included an official portrait of the official, photos of the woman at the palace, and similar facial features, hairstyle, and glasses. The user also claimed she is allegedly the wife of Gabriel Yorio. To date, federal authorities have not provided official confirmation of the person's identity. The case has caused a stir on social media, raising questions about the importance of information verification and respect for historical landmarks.
